With the New Year well and truly underway, visitor arrivals to Mauritius have started in a positive fashion with January's figures just released and a 2% uplift for 2018 arrivals versus 2017 figures for the month. The buzz around Mauritius as a destination continues to increase and there is plenty of exciting product news to share with you this month as below, including agent competitions, hotel developments and new air routes into the island.

Taba-J, Attitude hotels' street food concept is now mobile!

Last week, as part of the 10-year anniversary of the Attitude hotels group, Taba-J stopped by local ground handlers such as Solis, Kreola, Mautourco and other partners, during breakfast and lunch hours. In a friendly atmosphere and while playing a game of "carome", the teams enjoyed the menu of typical local street food such as "boulettes", mines bouillies, gato piments, aloudas etc.

True to the authenticity of Mauritius, Taba-J, Attitude's Mauritian street food concept, is available in all its hotels. Well planted in the sand and sheltered under typical roofs of red, green or yellow sheet metal, they allow the guests to live the Mauritian folklore.

Kenya Airways

Kenya Airways to launch flights to Mauritius

Kenya Airways will operate a four times a week direct flight between Nairobi and Mauritius commencing on 7th June 2018. The flight will be operated on an Embraer E190 with a configuration of 12 business class seats and 84 economy class seats.

Kenya Airways already has an existing code-share agreement with Air Mauritius and this new service will offer passengers daily flights between Nairobi and Mauritius except on Friday.

Flight connections from London Heathrow are perfect for safari and beach twin centre itineraries. Kenya Airways operates daily flights out of London-Heathrow, Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam direct to JKA, Nairobi.
