Mistura Fair celebrates 10th anniversary in historical district of Rimac
South America's most important gastronomic fair will be held from 26th October until 5th November in a new venue in the historic district of Rimac in Lima. Rimac, is the birthplace of Peruvian creole music and cuisine, as well as the source of ancient Peruvian traditions, making it a great place to celebrate the fair's 10th anniversary. Stalls at the fair will include ceviche bars, health foods, contemporary trends, as well as the traditional Cacao, Coffee and Pisco areas that are usually so well received. The guest country this year will be Indonesia which will have its own pavilion so guests can learn about Indonesian traditional cuisine and customs.
New airport transfers service to Miraflores
Airport Express Lima is a new official bus service connecting Lima airport with the famous Miraflores district all year round. The buses started operating in April 2017 and provide a safe, reliable and cost effective way to get to and from the airport. With 7 official stops within Miraflores which are all less than a 5 minute walk from more than 150 hotels and hostels, the buses offer an excellent and useful new service. All of the buses are equipped with free wifi, USB cable ports and TVs to make the journey as easy as possible.
Hyatt Centric to open in Peru
Hyatt Hotels has entered into a franchise agreement with Talbot Hotels S.A. for two Hyatt Centric hotels in Lima, Peru and Santiago, Chile. Hyatt Centric San Isidro Lima is expected to open in January 2018, with 254 guest rooms, and will mark the introduction of the Hyatt Centric brand to Peru. The hotel will occupy a strategic location on Avenida Basadre in San Isidro, a fashionable area of the capital offering art galleries, high-end boutiques, and some of Lima's best-rated bars and restaurants. The area is also known for its lush landscaping and wide plazas.

Holiday Inn will open a new hotel close to Lima Airport
InterContinental Hotels Group will be opening a new Holiday Inn hotel at Lima Airport in December 2017. The eight-storey hotel will have 179 rooms and be directly connected to the airport as well as being just 2.5 miles from the Port of Callao, one of the busiest ports in Latin America. The building will benefit from sound insulation to minimise any airport noise, as well as a restaurant, room service, a bar and an indoor swimming pool. This Holiday Inn hotel will be joined by a new-build Holiday Inn hotel in the affluent Miraflores district, anticipated to open in the third quarter of 2019.
Princess Anne spends week in Peru
Princess Anne returned from a weeklong visit to Peru in mid-September. She attended the International Olympic Committee's sessions in Lima and officially awarded the 2024 Olympic Games to Paris and the 2028 games to Los Angeles. She was met at the airport by Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Republic of Peru, His Excellency Anwar Choudhury, on Tuesday 12th September. His Excellency and Princess Anne also attended a #FoodisGreat dinner of classic British dishes served with a Peruvian twist. These dishes were created by Virgilio Martinez who is the chef at Central Restaurant in Lima, which has been consistently voted the best restaurant in Latin America.
Inca Rail: A mystical experience
Inca Rail is launching a scenic train service from Cusco to Machu Picchu in November 2017. With panoramic windows, an observation carriage and an audio guide providing information along the journey, this will be the perfect way to experience the incredible scenery and landscape on the route to Machu Picchu. The service offers three classes; Executive, First and Presidential, with First class offering a luxurious observatory lounge with live music, bar and balcony to enjoy the scenery.
